Big Bend Ranch, approximately 108 acres located along scenic California Route 1, was deeded in 2015 to the Land Trust for Santa Barbara County in order to preserve the property’s unique character and heritage. A sale is contingent upon a Conservation Easement that protects habitat and encourages continuation of existing farming and cattle grazing. It also allows vineyard development and other agricultural improvements, and permits construction of a new residence.

The Ranch, which is covered by a Williamson Act contract, is located adjacent to the Santa Rita Hills AVA. 30 acres of west-facing, well-drained soils is projected to have prime potential for high-quality vineyard development. About 30 acres of productive, flat bottom land are dry-farmed, and nearly 40 acres are grazed. El Jaro Creek and 35 acres of coastal oak woodland host habitat of regional importance.

Big Bend Ranch offers scenic open space, productive farming, range land and vineyard opportunity, all easily accessible via U.S. 101 from Santa Barbara, the Bay Area and Los Angeles.
