Picholine

Nestled behind private gates and up a meandering road, is the residence at Picholine.   It offers a  blend of country casual and understated elegance with expansive verandas that lie beneath  an old grape arbor and Wisteria covered pergola.   A feeling of peace and solitude embrance one and allows the soul to refresh.  Large living spaces with open beam ceilings, saltillo floors, lovely renovated kitchen plus large windows with natural light  create a welcoming living environment.  A separate in-laws quarters with kitchenette, wood burning stove, bedroom and large bath en-suite have an independent entrance.  The cellar area is perfect for collecting wines from the surrounding world-class vineyards.  Charming fountains brighten private patios and gardens. The farm itself lies in a secluded valley graced with massive oaks, large paddocks with irrigation and Kentucky Black fencing and a two stall barn with feed and service room.  A recently planted  olive orchard is comprised of several hundred trellised trees with high density growth for maximum production and looks forward to its first crop in 2015.  Bountiful lavender beds produce a high quality flower perfect for bath oils, sachets or colorful garden highlights. The property is fed by two sources of water including a newer personal well with two large storage tanks.  Only minutes from town, this 20 acre property offers a beautiful view corridor and the kind of privacy one experiences on a much larger parcel without the attendant maintenance  The residence is situated in a protected valley that opens toward the coastal range.
