About Robert W. Hanrahan, CPA, GRI, ABR, SRES.
Robert was raised in New Jersey, graduated from Seton Hall University with a bachelor's degree in accounting. Earned his Certification in accounting after passing the uniform CPA examination and then associated with Arthur Andersen and Deloitte and Touche, both major CPA firms where he received the substantial part of his professional training. He is licensed as a CPA in both New Jersey and California.
He was exclusively in the tax department with Andersen and mainly in the audit department with Touche.
Robert moved to California in 1975 and for a brief period of time was associated with a large local CPA firm before opening his own office in Carpinteria where he stayed for 30 years. He served mainly agricultural and business clients.
He entered the real estate profession in the year 2000 concentrating on agricultural, business and commercial properties. Although he is trained in all aspects of real estate sales and acquisitions, including personal residences, those are the areas where his CPA training is most helpful.
Robert has maintained his active CPA license and concentrates his current study mainly on the areas of Federal and State taxation that affect real estate.
He brings a heavy background of critical analysis, business and tax experience and negotiating skill, to all property transactions.
Robert served in the United States Army and The New Jersey National Guard for six years as part of the 2nd Brigade, 50th Armored Division where he received an Honorable Discharge.
He is very active in local community affairs, having been involved with the formation of the Carpinteria Education Foundation where he served as treasurer, he is presently the treasurer of The Santa Barbara Chamber Orchestra and has been an active member of Rotary International having served as Assistant District Governor.
Robert lives with his wife Dolores in Santa Barbara. He follows most sports and loves animals.
